HIRAM, Ohio -- Allegheny battled with North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) opponent Hiram but ultimately came up short on both ends of the doubleheader on Thursday. 

In game one, Cameron Long (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) posted a productive play at the plate with two hits and a walk. Hadley Horensky (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Seton LaSalle Catholic) scored in the top of the fifth inning as a result of Joplin Osgood (Coudersport, Pa./Coudersport) reached on a fielder's choice. 

During the nightcap, Kelly Lafferty recorded a perfect 3-for-3 including a double to left field in the top of the fifth inning. 

Kyleigh Cason (Virginia Beach, Va./Floyd E Kellam), Hayley Behr (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills), Paige Ziggas (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) and Isabelle Wakefield all notched a hit during game two.    

Allegheny and Hiram will complete their four-game NCAC series in Meadville at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 17.
