WOOSTER, Ohio -- Playing for the third time already this season, Wooster used a quick start to defeat the Allegheny women's lacrosse team by a 22-13 count in a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) match.
Five Gators posted two goals apiece on the day:
Senna Perelman (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Heights),
Mary Allen (Victor, N.Y./Victor),
Evi Malagise (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk),
Brenna Lawler (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) and
Ashley Amato (Westerly, R.I./Westerly).
Grace Baginski (Lakeville, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) led the team with four points on a goal and game-high three assists.
In total, four scooped up two ground balls on defense, as Lawler was joined by
Devin Gaffney (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy),
Molly Wojcik (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hampton) and
Gretchen Barbera (Yarmouth, Maine/Yarmouth).
Three different goalies saw time on the day, with
Natalie Suarez (Renton, Wash./Raisbeck Aviation) making 10 saves over 45 minutes.
The Gators will next hit the road for a nonconference match at Oberlin, beginning at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13.
