MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny men's soccer team tumbled against Wabash, 3-1, in North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) action at Frank B. Fuhrer Field.
The match was originally scheduled to be played on the Robertson Grass Field, but heavy rains overnight forced competition to the turfed stadium.
After the Little Giants scored in the 30th and 31st minutes,
Nicholas Taliani (Cheswick, Pa./Springdale) made it a 2-1 game when he deflected in a shot from
Owen Grimm (Owings Mills, Md./Gilman) in the 33rd minute. The offensive flurry continued when Wabash stretched the margin back to two goals in the 38th minute with a penalty kick score.
Taliani led the team with three shots, while
Alex Riel (Bethesda, Md./Landon) was second on the squad with two shots.
Jack Barron-Sluga (Guelph, Ont./Appleby College) made eight saves in goal while playing all 90 minutes.
The Gators remain home to play host to Oberlin at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13 as NCAC play continues.
