Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Kaminski scores twice as Gators take down Scots 2-1

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny men's soccer team played its penultimate match of the season, hosting Wooster in North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 27).

The Fighting Scots scored the game's first goal 12 minutes in off a free-kick opportunity.  After some back-and-forth play, the Gators tied the game in the 40th minute.  Cliff Weaver (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) snuck a lead pass through the Wooster defense to Cam Kaminski (Bowling Green, Ohio/Maumee Valley Country Day), who defeated the goalie in a one-on-one situation to tie the game, 1-1.

Two minutes into the second half, the Gators gained the lead.  A corner kick from Shane Lisman (Mars, Pa./Mars) found the foot of Owen Grimm (Owings Mills, Md./GIlman) who directed the ball to Kaminski, placing it in the back of the net for his second goal of the afternoon.

Jack Barron-Sluga (Guleph, Ont./Appleby College) made six saves and held strong as Wooster put on a late push in the second half in an attempt to knot the score.

The Gators conclude their season Saturday (Oct. 30) when they host Wittenberg on senior day at noon in Meadville.
