MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny men's soccer team concluded their 2021 season at home against North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) opponent Wittenberg with a 3-2 victory. Allegheny ended the season 7-11-0, 3-7-0 NCAC.

Prior to the game, the Gators honored their seven seniors:
Jack Barron-Sluga (Guleph, Ont./Appleby College),
Nicholas Taliani (Cheswick, Pa./Springdale),
Alex Riel (Bethesda, Md./Landon),
Keegan Cassidy (Commack, N.Y./Commack),
Joseph Pastorius (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills),
Luigino Croce (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) and
Ryan Hilty (Jeannette, Pa./Penn Trafford).

Wittenberg led off the game with a goal in the second minute of play. However, Allegheny stormed back with three goals in the half with the first two goals coming from seniors. Riel tied up the game at one on the ninth minute that bounded off of a Wittenberg defender.Â

Six minutes later,
Anthony Melograne (Pittsburgh, Pa./Peters Township) assisted Taliani, who drove in the go-ahead goal. Then, in the 28th minute
Brady Napoleon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) kicked in Allegheny's final goal of the match, which was assisted by Riel and
Shane Lisman (Mars, Pa./Mars).

Although Wittenberg cut the deficit to 3-2 with a shot going in on the 52nd minute, Barron-Sluga had five of his six saves on the day in the second half to keep Allegheny out in front.
