MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Gators notched the equalizer in the fourth quarter, but the Big Red answered quickly to escape with a 2-1 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) field hockey win.
After an early second quarter goal made it 1-0 Denison, the score stood until
Hannah Sharp (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) collected her first goal of the season nearly halfway through the fourth quarter after tapping in a pass from
Ramsay Smith (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette). The deadlock did not last long as Denison needed less than a minute to force a penalty corner at the other end and score the eventual game winner off of it.
Hallie Reiger (Oklahoma City, Okla./Casady) made eight saves in the match, her second eight-save performance against the Big Red this season.
Allegheny will travel to Oberlin for a 7 p.m. NCAC match on Tuesday, Oct. 19, looking to earn its sixth win of the season and end a three-game skid.
