MEADVILLE, Pa. -- In a match that saw both teams enter with identical 14-4 records, Penn State Behrend defeated Allegheny, 3-0 (25-13, 26-24, 25-19), in nonconference play at Mullen Arena.
Cheyenne Wilson (Chico, Calif./Pleasant Valley) had a team-high eight kills, while
India McCruter (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) was just behind her with seven kills.
Meagan Robare (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) handed out 11 assists to top the Gators.
Kate Christie (Schenectady, N.Y./Niskayuna) and
Taylor Besch (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) each posted three service aces on the night.
Defensively, Besch was the lone Gator in double digits for digs at 17. McCruter turned away four blocks, and Wilson,
Emma Chambers (Stoutsville, Ohio/Amanda Clearcreek) and
Dagney Javes (Frederick, Colo./Dawson School) each added three blocks.
Allegheny returns to North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play on Saturday, Oct. 16 when it travels to Delaware, Ohio and Ohio Wesleyan for a 1 p.m. start.
