Kealey fans 13 as Gators dispatch W&J, 10-3

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Senior lefty Sean Kealey (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) struck out 13 Presidents in seven shutout innings as the Allegheny baseball team earned a 10-3 win at Washington & Jefferson.

The 13 strikeouts represent a career high for Kealey, who walked none and scattered just five hits against a team that has been in to the Division III World Series in two of the last three seasons. Through two starts in 2020, the senior has struck out 22 and walked none in 13.0 innings.

Allegheny scored the first eight runs of the game with one in the second, four in the third and three in the fifth. After W&J scratched across three unearned runs in the bottom of the eighth, the Gators put up two in the top of the ninth to set the final tally.

Dalton DuBois (Bemus Point, N.Y./Maple Grove) and Brett Heckert (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) both had three hits, with Heckert contributing a double, a walk, four runs and two stolen bases. John Malagise (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) went 2-for-4 with a double, walk, three RBI and two runs. Andrew Vincent (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius) also posted a pair of hits, including a two-run homer, the first longball of the season for the Gators. Luke Chutko (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) knocked in a pair on the day.

Allegheny's next currently scheduled game is at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11 at Grove City.
