MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Playing a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) opponent for the second-straight day, the Allegheny women's basketball team ran into a hot-shooting Wittenberg squad that defeated the Gators by a final score of 90-68.
Three Gators reached double figures, led by
Zoe Soilis (Sarver, Pa./Freeport) with 11, while
Rylee Donovan (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler) and
Julianna Skowron (Sewickley, Pa./Oakland Catholic) posted 10 points apiece. Donovan also added a game-high seven assists.
In total, 12 Gators hit the scoresheet as the home squad shot 50.9 percent (27-of-53) from the floor. It marked the third-best shooting performance of the season for the Blue & Gold. Wittenberg made 54.7 percent (29-of-53), but the difference was at the free-throw line where the Tigers were 25-of-29 and the Gators 9-of-11.
The Gators head into the final stretch of the regular season with four games remaining, beginning with a 6 p.m. start at Oberlin on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
