OBERLIN, Ohio --
Zoe Youdell (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville) hit a free throw with 25 seconds remaining to force overtime where Allegheny rolled to a 15-5 advantage and a 67-57 win at Oberlin.
With the victory, the Gators improve to 8-14 overall and 4-9 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) and avenge a 52-42 loss to the Yeowomen on Jan. 22.
Allegheny scored the first seven points of the overtime period, including the first five from
Rylee Donovan (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler). After the Yeowomen got within four (59-55) at the 2:00 mark, a pair of free throws by
Julianna Skowron (Sewickley, Pa./Oakland Catholic) fronted six-straight points from Donovan which sealed the game, with only a late bucket by Oberlin putting the final at 67-57.
Donovan led all players with 24 points, highlighted by four three-pointers and a 10-for-13 mark at the free-throw line. The 24 markers represent the most in a game for the junior since posting 29 at Washington & Jefferson on Nov. 20, 2018. She also contributed eight rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Youdell and Skowron both contributed double-doubles, with Youdell putting up 18 points and 11 rebounds and Skowron adding 14 points and 12 boards.
Allegheny will host Denison at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15. Prior to the game, the Gators will recognize their lone senior,
