Allegheny opened its NCAC schedule with a convincing 29-18 win against Oberlin. Marching 68 yards in 12 plays, Oberlin took a 6-0 lead on Tyrone Reynolds' 4-yard run.
AC got on the scoreboard in the second quarter as Steve Boucher kicked a 27-yard field goal.
Then with 4:07 left in the half, Jeff Filkovski tossed a 15-yard strike to Rob Gardner.
Tailback Stanley Drayton celebrated his first career start in style, rushing for 139 yards and two touchdowns, including a 17-yard scamper with 10:30 left in the third quarter.
Oberlin retaliated with two fourth-quarter touchdowns, cutting the lead to 20-18 with 1:31 left in the game, but cornerback Tony Bifulco intercepted Matt Anthony's two-point conversion pass and returned it 100 yards for a safety. Drayton iced the win 16 seconds later with a 47-yard touchdown.
