MEADVILLE, Pa.— The Allegheny men's basketball team fell at home in North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play Wednesday (Jan. 22) against Oberlin, 68-52.
Jordan Rawls (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) tallied his eighth double-double of the season, finishing the game with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Jordan Greynolds (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton) finished with nine points, on three triples, to go alongside three rebounds and a block.
Keeno Holmes (Pittsburgh, Pa./Lincoln Park) scored eight with three rebounds and a game-high three steals.
Brian Roberts, Jr. (Copley, Ohio/Copley) scored seven points. He also contributed six rebounds and a team-high three assists.
Caden Hinckley (Boise, Idaho/Mt. Lebanon (Pa.)) had seven points and a pair of steals while
Nijon Kirkman (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay) had seven rebounds.
The Yeomen got out to an early 9-2 lead, but the Gators fought back to pull within one at 13-12. Oberlin strung together an 11-0 run to take a 24-12 advantage. They rode that advantage to halftime as they took a 33-25 lead into the locker room.
The Gators were hot coming out of the break, starting the second half on an 8-2 run to cut the Oberlin lead to 35-33. Following a timeout, Oberlin regained their footing, going on a 12-2 run to take a 10 point lead. In the final 10 minutes of the game, Oberlin led by as much as 20 to secure the conference win.
Allegheny is back in action Saturday (Jan. 25) on the road against NCAC foe Ohio Wesleyan.
