GRANVILLE, Ohio -- A second-quarter slow down sent the Allegheny women's basketball team to a 92-60 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) defeat at Denison.
Julianna Skowron (Sewickley, Pa./Oakland Catholic) led three Gators in double figures with 15 points and a game-high seven rebounds. The junior finished 6-of-11 from the floor and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line.
Zoe Soilis (Sarver, Pa./Freeport) and
Rylee Donovan (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler) equaled one another with 13 points apiece. Soilis hit on four three-pointers, while Donovan was 6-of-9 from the field while also equaling the game and her season high with six assists.
Zoe Youdell (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville) was fourth on the squad with eight points and five rebounds.
On the road, the Gators trailed by just three, 23-20, after one quarter, but fell behind by a 50-26 count at halftime.
Allegheny will host Oberlin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22 as NCAC play continues. That night, the Gators will host the program's inaugural 'Pride Game' (co-sponsored by the Athletics Department and the IDEAS Center) in recognition of the pride Allegheny has for its LGBTQ+ community and the continued support of every student on campus.
