MARIETTA, Ohio – The Allegheny men's soccer team fell to Marietta 3-0 on Saturday (Sept. 7).
Marietta got out to an early lead with a goal from Gavin Long in the fifth minute. Long doubled the Pioneers' total with a second goal in the 16th minute. Caden Ferguson added the final tally in the 75th minute.
Jack Barron-Sluga (Guelph, Ont./Appleby-College) was the keeper for Allegheny and made four stops.
Danny Reid (Old Lyme, Conn./Lyme-Old Lyme) and
Owen Harkins (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) led the team with two shots apiece. A quartet of Gators also tallied one shot.
Allegheny is back on the pitch on Friday (Sept. 13) as they travel to Erie, Pa. to take on Penn State Behrend in a nonconference showdown.
