ERIE, Pa. - The Allegheny men's soccer team fell to 22nd-ranked Penn State Behrend on Friday (Sept. 13) by a score of 2-0.
The Lions scored both of their goals 94 seconds apart, with the first coming in the 17th minute.
Allegheny had chances in the first half, resulting in three shots, with two landing on-target. Unfortunately, they were not able to capitalize on these opportunities.Â
Coach
Angelo Panzetta noted that he believed the team played well against a nationally ranked team. "They had chances. Good teams capitalize on those chances, and that is something we still have to work on. We hope to use this game as momentum heading into Monday."
Jorge Olan (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) and
Nicholas Taliani (Cheswick, Pa./Springdale) had the shots-on-goal, while
Ryan Clydesdale (South Park, Pa./South Park) booted one towards net as well.
Jack Barron-Sluga (Guelph, Ont./Appleby College) was the Gators' keeper and made four saves.
Allegheny return to the home pitch on Monday (Sept. 16) for a match against Carnegie Mellon at 7:30 p.m.
