LANSING, Mich. – The Allegheny College volleyball team opened up play at the 2019 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA)/North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Crossover Friday (Sept. 6) in Lansing, Mich.
The Gators faced Kalamazoo College in their first of three games on the weekend. The Hornets collected the win in straight sets, 25-17, 25-16, 27-25.
Tamara Babic (Belgrade, Serbia/Third Belgrade) led the Gators with five kills.
Alysha Crowther (Santa Cruz, Calif./Santa Cruz) had four kills while
Cheyenne Wilson (Chico, Calif./Pleasant Valley),
Kendall Crum (Chattanooga, Tenn./Girls Preparatory) and
Elizabeth Debich (Leechburg. Pa./Kiski Area) had three apiece.
Raelynn Dorscheid (Maedon, N.Y./Penfield) had nine assists.
Rebecca MacQuarrie (Waterford, Pa./Fort Leboeuf) had a team-high 12 digs.
Olivia D'Andrea (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) also finished with a double-digit dig total tallying 11.
Jyl Russotti (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) had five blocks while Crowther, Debich and Babic had three apiece.
The Gators return to action at the MIAA/NCAC Crossover tomorrow as they face St. Mary's (Ind.) and Olivet College.
