LANSING, Mich.- The Allegheny women's volleyball team wrapped up play in the 2019 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA)/North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Crossover on Saturday (Sept. 7).
The Gators fell to Saint Mary's in three sets (25-20, 25-22, 25-23) in their first game before coming up short in four sets against host Olivet (25-22, 25-18, 25-18, 25-18).
In game one,
Alysha Crowther (Santa Cruz, Calif./Santa Cruz) led the Gator offense with eight kills, followed by
Tamara Babic (Belgrade, Serbia/Third Belgrade) and
Jyl Russotti (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) with six kills apiece.
Olivia D'Andrea (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) tallied a team-high 15 assists.
Rebecca MacQuarrie (Waterford, Pa./Fort Leboeuf) and D'Andrea anchored the Gator defense with 17 and 14 digs, respectfully.
Against Olivet, Allegheny won the first set 25-22 before dropping the next three by identical scores of 25-18.
Grace Lengauer (Avella, Pa./Avella) notched a team-high 17 kills. D'Andrea and
Raelynn Dorscheid (Macedon, N.Y./Penfield) helped the offense with 18 and 16 assists, respectfully.Â
Defensively, MacQuarrie tallied a team-high 20 digs.
Elizabeth Debich (Leechburg, Pa./Kiski Area) added 18, and D'Andrea rounded out the double-digit defenders with 10.
Allegheny returns to Meadville for a four-game homestand, starting with a non-conference match against Fredonia on Friday (Sept. 13) at 7:00 P.M.
