MEADVILLE, Pa. - The Allegheny men's soccer team dropped its conference opener to No. 22 Kenyon on Saturday (Sept. 28).
After a scoreless half, the Lords notched the first goal in the 53rd minute as a set piece found the head of Chayne Bruneau for the score. Kenyon also tallied a late unassisted goal by Mac Nardiello-Smith to provide the final score of 2-0.
Dillon Thoma (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny),
Ryan Clydesdale (South Park, Pa./South Park), and
Danny Reid (Old Lyme, Conn./Lyme-Old Lyme) each took two shots on the day to lead the offense. A quartet of Gators provide the other four shots, giving Allegheny ten for the day.
Nick Ferreira (Chester, N.Y./Warwick Valley) made five stops at keeper, tied for his second-most in 2019.
Allegheny travels to Washington & Jefferson on Wednesday (Oct. 2) for a 7:00 p.m. nonconference match.
