MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Allegheny held 11-time North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) champion Denison off the scoreboard for the first 37-plus minutes, before eventually falling to the Big Red by a 4-0 count in nonconference action on the Blue Turf.

Due to the league's 1.5 round robin schedule, the match did not count toward the league standings. It was the final "nonconference conference" game of the year for the Gators, who will turn around and play at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29 against Ferrum (Va.) in a true nonconference game at home.

Faythe Schulte (Warwick, R.I./Rocky Hill) posed the lone shot of the match for the Gators, while Danielle Thompson (Eden, N.Y./Eden) recorded a defensive save.

In cage, starter Hallie Reiger (Oklahoma City, Okla./Casady) made nine saves between the first and third periods, while Heather Amancio (San Diego, Calif./Patrick Henry) turned away four shots in the second and fourth periods, combined.
