MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny women's soccer team tied Penn State Behrend, 1-1, in double overtime in a nonconference marathon.
Behrend quickly took the lead to open the game as the Lions scored their only goal in the ninth minute of play.
The Gators tied the game up as
Shannon McGuinn (Warminister, Pa./William Tenant) scored an unassisted goal in the 69th minute. With the tie, their third straight at home, the Gators now have a record of 2-1-4 this season.
Goalkeeper
Maya Hackman (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) stopped the game from getting out of hand as she had 10 saves over the course of the match. Meanwhile, McGuinn led the team with five shots, and right behind her was
Taylor Renk (Cranberry Twp., Pa./Oakland Catholic) with three shots of her own.
