MEADVILLE, Pa. - Sophomore Alex Klare (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) scored two goals for Allegheny in a 2-2 tie with John Carroll on Wednesday (Sept. 18).

Klare started the scoring in the fifth minute as she collected a pass from Amy Barra (Coral Springs, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) towards the top of the box and lifted the ball over the goalie's head. Then in the 55th minute, Klare scored a nearly identical goal on an assist from Bryanna Urso (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel).

The Blue Raiders were able to score two late goals in the 84th and 89th minutes to push the game to overtime.

Shots were fairly even between the two teams, with 16 for John Carroll and 14 for Allegheny. Four of these shots came from Shannon McGuinn (Warminster, Pa./William Tennant), with two on goal. Klare and Maddie McClinchie (Westerville, Ohio/Wellington) each tallied three shots, while Taylor Renk (Cranberry Township, Pa./Oakland Catholic) added two more.

Maya Hackman (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) made seven saves in the game.

Allegheny returns to the blue turf on Tuesday (Sept. 24) when they host Penn State Behrend for a nonconference match starting at 7:00 p.m.
