DALLAS, Pa. -- The second game of Allegheny Field Hockey began with the Gators holding host Misericordia off the scoreboard for the first quarter, exiting the first 15 minutes of play knotted at 0-0.
In that same opening period, both the first penalty corner and shot for the program occurred.
Ramsay Smith (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) inserted the corner and
Becca Winton (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) hit a drive from near the top of the circle that was blocked.
The Gators ceded three goals in the second quarter and just one in each of the third and fourth periods, with the final marker coming just under two minutes to go.
Allegheny returns to the field on Sunday, Sept. 8 when it travels to Lebanon Valley in Annville, Pa., for a neutral site match against Virginia Wesleyan.
