MEADVILLE, Pa.— The Allegheny College men's tennis team swept Franciscan University 9-0 at home Saturday (April 6).
Franciscan entered the 2019 season having won the past Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships.
Wonjoon Cho and
Matt Andrus won at first doubles, 8-4. At second doubles,
Mackenzie Knowlton and
Cooper Miller won 8-2, while
Zach Anderson and
Benny Gantrish swept at third doubles.
Andrus competed at first singles, picking up a 6-3, 6-0 decision. At second singles,
Colton Johnson Taylor won 6-1, 6-0. Anderson won his third singles match 6-1, 6-3, while Miller picked up his second win of the day at fourth singles, 6-2, 6-2. Knowlton also had two wins on the day as he won at fifth singles 6-2, 6-0.
Ewan Malenfant competed for the Gators at sixth singles, winning 6-3, 6-2.
The Gators return to action Sunday (April 7) when they host Westminster College.
