MEADVILLE, Pa.—The Allegheny College women's tennis team was unable to overcome Wittenberg University in their North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) opener at home Friday (April 5), falling to the Tigers 8-1.
Amanda Ress Liere picked up a win for the Gators at first singles. Facing Carli Milano, Ress Liere controlled the opening set, taking it 6-1. The second set was closer, but Ress Liere won 6-3 to win the match.
Savannah Gray had a three set match at third singles against Alivia Livesay. Gray won the opening set 6-3, but fell 6-4 in the second set. Livesay then won the tiebreaker to take it in three sets.
The Gators are back in action Thursday (April 11) when they travel to Grove City College for a non-conference match.
