MEADVILLE, Pa.—The Allegheny College women's tennis team swept their third straight match as they defeated Division-II Ursuline College at home Tuesday (April 2).
Amanda Ress Liere and reigning North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Athlete of the Week
Miharu Koh picked up an 8-2 win at first doubles against Elizabeth Weber and Ashley Duncan.
Savannah Gray and
Hannah Schaffer at second doubles, and
Candace Burkhammer and
Satori Chin at third doubles both swept their Arrow counterparts 8-0.
Three of the singles matches ended in 6-0, 6-0 sweeps. Ress Liere had the result at first singles, Koh at second singles, and Chin at sixth singles. At third singles, Gray nearly swept as she bested her opponent 6-1, 6-0. Burkhammer only let up one game as well as she won at fifth singles 6-1, 6-0. Schaffer won her second match of the day at fourth singles as she collected a 6-0, 6-2 win.
The Gators are at home in action Friday (April 5) as they open NCAC play against Wittenberg University.
