MEADVILLE, Pa.—The Allegheny College women's tennis team won their second non-conference match of the week as they swept Penn State Behrend 9-0 Saturday (March 30).
At first doubles,
Amanda Ress Liere and
Miharu Koh defeated Jada Donatien and Alyson Edwards 8-2.
Savannah Gray and
Hannah Schaffer at second doubles, and
Candace Burkhammer and
Satori Chin at third doubles both won by similar 8-1 scores.
Koh faced Donatien once again at first singles, sweeping 6-0, 6-0. Gray took on Kirin Bean at second singles, also sweeping her Lion counterpart. Schaffer defeated Edwards 6-1, 6-2 in the third singles flight. At fourth singles, Burkhammer won a 6-2, 6-2 decision against Emily Hood. Chin picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win at fifth singles against Maggie Donley.
Serena Lin closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-1 win at sixth singles against Natalie Denny.
The Gators are in action Monday (April 1) for a non-conference match at Westminster College.
