HILTON HEAD, S.C.—The Allegheny College women's tennis team won both first singles and double flights, but fell to SUNY Geneseo 7-2 to close their 2019 spring break trip in Hilton Head, S.C.
At first doubles,
Amanda Ress Liere and
Miharu Koh faced the Geneseo team of Vanessa Lam-Tran and Julianna Schulz. The Gator duo had little trouble in the match as they picked up the win 8-2.
At first singles, Ress Liere took on Lam-Tran. Ress Liere was able to cruise to a 6-2, 6-1 win. The win marked her fifth of the week as she went undefeated at first singles for the trip.
Koh had a close match at second singles against Natalia Krol. Krol won the opening set 6-2, before Koh bounced back with a 6-4 win in the second set. However, Krol won the super tiebreaker 10-2 to win the match.
The Gators are back in action at home Monday (March 25) as they host Saint Vincent College.
