HILTON HEAD, S.C.—The Allegheny College men's tennis team closed out their 2019 Hilton Head trip in a loss to 39
th-ranked Carleton College Friday (March 22).
At first doubles, Wnnjoon Cho and
Matt Andrus faced Jordon O'Kelly and Leo Vithoontien. The Carleton duo entered the match ranked 19
th in the country. Cho and Andrus kept the match close, nut ultimately fell 8-5.
The second doubles match between
Cooper Miller and
Zach Anderson against Jonas Lindholm-Uzzi and William Walash was also tight. The match went into a tiebreaker, which the Knights won 7-4.
At first singles, Cho faced Vithoontien, who entered the match ranked 15
th nationally. Vithoontien was able break Cho in the opening set to take it by a close 7-5 margin, before taking the second set 6-3.
At second singles, Andrus and Walsh went into a third tiebreaker, but Walsh won the extra session 10-7 for the match win.
The Gators are on the road Monday (March 25) at Westminster College.
