HILTON HEAD, S.C.—The Allegheny College men's tennis team battled against Macalester College but ultimately fell 6-3 Thursday (March 21).
The Gators opened the match by sweeping doubles.
The third doubles match was the first off the court.
Colton Johnson Taylor and Mackenzie KNolwton took on Jeffrey Jorgensen and Alexander Poland. The Gator duo only gave up three games as they took the match 8-3.
The first doubles match was completed next.
Wonjoon Cho and
Matt Andrus faced Sam Hochberger and Ben White. SInilar to the third doubles match, Cho and Andrus picked up an 8-3 win.
The second doubles match featuring
Cooper Miller and
Zach Anderson against Karsten Knutsen and Peter WIllenborg finished last. Miller and Anderson were able to break the Scots as they won 8-5 to complete the sweep.
All of the singles matches were closely contested with all six going into third sets. However, the Scots picked up the wins in all six super tiebreakers to sweep singles and pick up a 6-3 match win.
The Gators conclude their trip Friday (March 22) against Carleton College.
