BEREA, Ohio -- Allegheny held a 5-3 lead at hafltime, but was dealt a 9-8 defeat in nonconference action at Baldwin Wallace.

With the loss, the Gators head into their spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C. with an even 2-2 overall record.

Evi Malagise (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) led all players with five points, including her second hat trick of the season, in the defeat. Sarah Basden (Malibu, Calif./Thousand Oaks) added a pair of goals for Allegheny, while Taylor Vigneri (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy), Brenna Lawler (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) and Mary Allen (Victor, N.Y./Victory) each found the back of the net once.

Steph Shakespeare (Pittsburgh, Pa./Peters Township) made six saves in goal in the loss.

Allegheny will play twice in Hilton Head, beginning with a 9:30 a.m. match against Centre (Ky.) on Monday, March 18.
