PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- The Allegheny men's basketball team came up just short in a 68-62 loss at Chatham on Saturday (Nov. 23).
With the loss, the Gators move to 4-1 on the season.
Trailing by as many as 12 in the second half, the Gators rallied to tie the game at 56-56 with 5:56 remaining in the half. The game would be tied two more times, the latter coming on a three pointer by
Keeno Holmes (Pittsburgh, Pa./Lincoln Park) with 1:29 left in the game, to knot the score at 62-62. The Cougars would then score the final six points of the game to pull out the 68-62 win.
Holmes led the Gators with 14 points on the day, plus a game-high three steals.
Jordan Rawls (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) collected his first double-double of the season with 11 points and a season-best 11 boards.
Caden Hinckley (Boise, Idaho/Mount Lebanon (Pa.)) reached double figures for the third time in five games by putting up 10 points and pulling down seven boards.
Allegheny returns home to the James H. Mullen, Jr. Arena when it hosts Geneva in nonconference action at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
