MEADVILLE, Pa. - The Allegheny women's basketball team fell to Grove City, 74-55, to wrap up the Greg Richards '08 Memorial Classic on Saturday, Nov. 16.
With the loss, the Gators move to 2-1 on the season.Â
Allegheny held a one-point advantage after the first period, but a strong 24 point showing by Grove City in the second proved too much as the Wolverines would add onto their eight point halftime lead to win by 19.
Freshman guard
Alexis Caldwell (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) shot 6-of-13 to lead the offense with 15 points, followed by classmate
Zoe Youdell (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville Area) with 10.
Julianna Skowron (Sewickley, Pa./Oakland Catholic) pulled in a team-high nine rebounds and Youdell added seven.
Chloe Rabold (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) scored eight points and added a pair of assists.
Jenna Manke () provided an efficient six points on 3-of-4 shooting off the bench and also grabbed five rebounds.
The Gators are back in action on Tueday (Nov. 19) as they host Carnegie Mellon, with a 7:00 p.m. start.
