WOOSTER, Ohio -
Ramsay Smith (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) and
Faythe Schulte (Warwick, R.I./Rocky Hill) netted a pair of goals as Allegheny battled Wooster to a 3-2 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) loss on Wednesday (Oct. 29).
Schulte gave Allegheny the early lead off a pass from
Hannah Sharp (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) in the second minute of the game. Wooster then scored the next two before Smith pushed a ball through traffic to tie the game at 2-2 in the 24th minute.
In the 40th minute, Wooster was able to find the game winner on a goal by Katie Agatucci.
Heather Amancio (San Diego, Calif./Patrick Henry) and
Hallie Reiger (Oklahoma City, Okla./Casady) split time in goal. Reiger made a pair of saves while Amancio stopped a season-high 12 shots.
Smith spearheaded the offense with three shots, two on goal, and a score.
Kelsey Anderson (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) and
Kinsley Greenlaw (Fredericksburg, Va./Stafford) tallied a pair of shots, with Schulte,
Becca Winton (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle),
Zoey Dudek (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) and
Hanah Simmons (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) each added one. Sharp also earned an assist.
The Gators wrap up their regular season with Armed Forces Day as they host Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday (Nov. 2) at 2:00 p.m. on the Blue Turf.
