MEADVILLE, Pa. - The inaugural season for the Allegheny field hockey came to a close on Saturday (Nov. 2) as the Gators fell 5-0 against Ohio Wesleyan.
The Gators ended with a record 2-16 with a 1-7 conference mark.
Hallie Reiger (Oklahoma City, Okla./Casady) ended the season with 90 saves, while
Heather Amancio (San Diego, Calif./Patrick Henry) stopped 64 shots.
Faythe Schulte (Warwick, R.I./Rocky Hill) and
Vivian Super (Granville, Ohio/Granville) each netted three goals while adding an assist apiece, and each also tallied a game-winning score in 2019.
Ramsay Smith (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) scored two and the trio of
Hannah Sharp (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington),
Zoey Dudek (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny),
Kinsley Greenlaw (Fredericksburg, Va./Stafford) scored one. Sharp and
Becca Winton (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) also assisted two Gator goals this fall.
Schulte led the team with 39 shots, 18 on the cage.
Kierstin Faw (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) helped the defense with 13 defensive saves on the year to add to Allegheny's 28 total.
Prior to today's game, the Allegheny field hockey team and the Allegheny community honored four veterans in honor of Armed Forces Day.
