MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny volleyball team dropped a 3-0 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) home match against Hiram on Wednesday night (Oct. 23).
The Terriers dealt the Gators set losses by scores of 25-17, 25-13, 25-21 as the visitors improved to 14-11 overall and 2-4 in the NCAC and the home Blue & Gold dropped to 5-18 on the year and 0-6 in league action.
On the attack,
Kendall Crum (Chattanooga, Tenn./Girls Preparatory) led the way with nine kills and a .250 hitting percentage over 28 total attacks.
Elizabeth Debich (Leechburg, Pa./Kiski Area) and
Kristiana Hardisty (Camarillo, Calif./Rancho Campana) both tallied four kills.
Olivia D'Andrea (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) handed out 15 assists.
Defensively,
Rebecca MacQuarrie (Waterford, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf) recorded 21 digs. D'Andrea was second with eight digs and
Kate Christie (Schenectady, N.Y./Niskayuna) added six digs.
Jillian Kirby (Cincinnati, Ohio/Clermont Northeastern) collected two blocks, while Crum, Hardisty and
Jyl Russotti (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) all had one block apiece.
Allegheny hits the road for a pair of matches to close out NCAC play, beginning with a 1 p.m. meeting at Denison on Saturday, Oct. 26. The Gators will be at home for the regular-season finale when they host Penn State Behrend at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1. Prior to that match, Allegheny will recognize its lone senior,
