OBERLIN, Ohio -- A sluggish start for both teams led to a low-scoring affair, but Oberlin came out on top of a 63-50 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) women's basketball game against Allegheny.
The Gators trailed, 16-5, after one quarter, but rallied to cut the deficit to 24-19 at intermission. The Yeowomen pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Gators by five (18-13) and three (21-18) in the third and fourth quarters, respectively.
Rylee Donovan tied for the game high with 17 points behind a trio of three-pointers. The sophomore also added a game-high four steals, one shy of her season high set on Nov. 17 against Ohio Northern.
Julianna Skowron recorded her fifth double-double of the season, and eighth of her career, finishing with 13 points and 10 boards.
Allegheny edged Oberlin, 22-20, on points in the paint in the match-up.
The Gators return to the David V. Wise Center for a 1 p.m. NCAC match-up against Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday, Jan. 19. The Bishops squeaked out a 69-63 win in Ohio in the first meeting between the two teams on Dec. 1.
