INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The Allegheny College men's tennis team fell in its opening match of the 2018 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships 5-0 against Kenyon College Friday (April 27) in Indianapolis.
The Lords entered the Championships as the number one seed in the conference, and ranked 13
th in the country and fourth in the Central Region.
At first doubles,
Jai Redkar and
Colton Johnson Taylor faced Weston Noall and Alex Rieger. The Kenyon duo entered the match ranked fifth in the region. The Gators team put up a fight, but the Lords were able to break to squeak by with an 8-6 win.
After sweeping doubles, the Lords ended the match with wins at fourth and fifth doubles.
The Gators will now play the College of Wooster in the seventh-place match Saturday (April 28).
