HILTON HEAD, S.C.—The Allegheny College men's tennis team fell in their spring break opener to Carleton College 8-1 Tuesday (March 20) in Hilton Head, S.C.
Jacob Stringer picked up a singles win for the Gators in the sixth flight. In the first set, Stringer was able to break Johnny Reichman to take it 6-4. The second set saw the two tied at six games apiece. Stringer was dominant in the tiebreaker, taking it 7-0 to win the match 6-4, 7-6.
Jai Redkar and
Cooper Miller fell to Aaron Goodman and Kevin Mei in the top doubles flight 8-3.
Colton Johnson Taylor and
Zach Anderson also had an 8-3 defeat against Leo Vithoontien and Andrew Qi at second doubles.
After falling 6-1 in the opening fourth singles set against Xander Zuczek,
Mike Siegel put up a valiant effort in the second set, but fell 7-5.
The Gators are back in action Wednesday (March 21) in Hilton Head against Juniata College.
