MEADVILLE, Pa.-- The Allegheny College women's basketball team had four players score in double digits as they picked up a 73-57 win against Westminster College Monday (Nov. 26) in Meadville.

Delaney Arbore started the game with a three on the opening trip down the floor.  After a Titan basket, Arbore hit her second three in the opening three minutes. The game remained close until an 8-2 Gator run, capped off by a Zoe Soilis three, gave the Gators a 16-9 lead.  The Titans slowly cut the deficit to 18-16 with two minutes left in the frame, but the Gators had a couple scoring possession late to take a 23-17 lead into the second.

The Titans brought the lead down to 23-20 before the Gators made a run. Â Over a three minute span, they outscored Westminster 12-2 to take their largest lead of the half at 35-22. Â In the remaining five minutes of the half, the Titans worked their way back in to the game, but a late Rylee Donovan basket gave the Gators a 39-29 halftime lead.

Arbore led the Gators with 14 points in the opening half.  Donovan was also in double digits with 11. Shannon Relihan grabbed six rebounds.  The Gators shot 47.1% (16-of-34) from the floor, including 6-of-11 (54.5%) from three. Â

The Titans converted a pair of free-throws to start the third, but the Gators took over from there.  Over the ensuing five minutes, the Gators went on a 15-2 run to gain control with a 54-33 lead. Following the Gator run, the Titans cut into the lead, eventually lowering it to 56-45 in the final minute.  However, Julianna Skowron and Donovan hit shots in the final 40 seconds to give Allegheny a 60-45 lead heading into the final frame.Â

Neither team scored in the opening four minutes of the fourth. Â After the teams traded baskets, Soilis drained a three to give the Gators an 18 point lead at 65-47. Â A couple minutes later, Donovan and Pinkney hit back-to-back threes to make it 71-48 with 2:39 to play. Â The Titans would pull within 15 points down the stretch, but the Gators secured the 16 point non-conference win.

Arbore and Donovan both finished the game with 18 points apiece.  Donovan added six rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals while Arbore had four rebounds and four assists. Pinkney added 13 points with seven rebounds. Soilis also finished in double figures with 10 points and two blocks. Relihan finished with a game-high 10 rebounds.

For the game, the Gators shot 43.9% (29-of-66) from the floor, and 41.7% (10-of-24) from three. Â They outrebounded Westminster 45-38, while holding the Titan shooters to just 29.8% (17-of-57) from the floor. Â

The Gators are back in action Saturday (Dec. 1) as they travel to Ohio Wesleyan University to open North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play.
