Boyer dominated game one en route to earning his first complete game win of the season. Allegheny was able to get an early lead over the Bears in the bottom of the first, as Gray jumpstarted the Gator offense with a two-out double down the right field line. Killian took the ball the other way, notching a double down the third base to plate Gray and give the Gators a 1-0 lead.
After flashing the leather with a stellar, diving catch in center field for the second out of the third inning, Sardini hit his second home run of the spring training trip in the bottom of the fifth. Murray dropped a single into center field, setting the stage for Sardini's blast. On the first pitch of his at bat, Sardini took another fastball high in the zone to left field, clearing the left center fence easily for a 3-0 lead.
Boyer went back to work with the 3-0 lead, making one miscue on a home run by Bowdoin with one out in the sixth. After the Bears' home run, Boyer did not allow a runner into scoring position, retiring the Bears in the order in the top of the sixth to clinch the win. Not including the home run, there was only one runner in scoring position during Boyer's outing on Friday.
In game two, the two squads had a scoreless first, but the bottom of the Allegheny order came up big in the top of the second. Killian and Shick led off the inning with back-to-back singles before Sardini was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Flaherty brought in Killian with a fielder's choice grounder before Wagner crushed a double that landed in front of the 365-foot sign in left center field, plating Sardini and Flaherty to give the Gators a 3-0 lead.
Bowdoin's Aaron Rosen struck again, following his home run in game one with a two-run blast to left field to slice into the Gators lead before a double off the wall in the fifth tied the game at 3-3. With the potential go-ahead run in scoring position, Wagner laid out for a inning-ending line drive, shutting down the Bears' threat and send the game into the final act.
Bronson reached first on a double down the right field line to kick off the sixth, as Gray bunted down the left field line and beat out the throw to put runners at the corners with one out. Similar to Sardini, Shick turned on the first pitch of his at bat, hitting a high arcing fly over the left center wall for a momentum-snagging, three-run home run.
