MEADVILLE, Pa. – Ranked No. 10 in the most recent D3Hoops.com Top 25 poll, the DePauw Tigers shook off an early deficit to upend the Allegheny women's basketball squad, 85-46, on Friday evening at the David V. Wise Center.

DePauw closed the contest shooting a wildly efficient 49.3 percent from the floor, while the determined Tiger defense held the Gator sharpshooters at bay, holding Allegheny to a 5-of-19 performance from behind the arc despite a 13-of-14 outing by the team on the charity stripe. The Tigers pushed the pace of the contest, scoring 15 points off of 14 Gator turnovers, adding 20-second chance points and 30 points in the paint.
Scarantino kicked off the contest by burying a three-pointer 11 seconds in, as a 4-0 run triggered by a transition three-pointer from Hoffman and a fast break layup by Vigliotti put the Gators up, 8-4. DePauw quickly turned the tides on Allegheny, erupting for a 38-6 run to close the half to take a 41-14 halftime lead.
The Tigers held momentum in the second half, steadily increasing their lead by shooting 52.9 percent from the floor. Mrdjenovich sparked Allegheny in the latter half, shooting 2-of-4 from beyond the arc, a perfect 2-for-2 from the free-throw line while Pellicano tacked on seven points with a 2-for-2 second half performance.
Allegheny will look to rebound on Saturday, as the Gators will welcome Wittenberg to the David V. Wise Center for a 1 p.m. clash.
