The Gators would start to distance themselves from the Raiders with three runs in the eighth, loading the bases with the first three batters of the inning after Killian, Green and Gray all reached base. Murray drove home Killian and Gray with a single to right, as a sacrifice fly by Frazier brought home Bronson.
Allegheny would close the scoring with seven runs in the ninth. After Shick reached base off of an error to lead off the inning, the Gators rattled off five hits in the inning, as Bronson picked up a two-run double to left center, the second of four consecutive hits that brought home Allegheny base runners.
Following an RBI single through the right side by Gray, a double to left by Murray completed his impressive outing at the plate before a single to the shortstop by Regel drove home the Allegheny junior. Regel scored on a groundout by Weyant to close the Allegheny scoring. Freshman
Zach Hale took the mound in the ninth, picking up a strikeout in the inning without allowing a runner into scoring position to help the Gators clinch the shutout victory.
