John Hughes was named the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Distance MVP at the 2018 Indoor Championships this past weekend.  This marked the second year in a row in which he earned the honor.  Hughes won a pair of events to earn the honor.  He finished the mile run with a career-best time of 4:14.53, the third fastest time in Gator history.  Later on in the day, Hughes followed up with a time of 8:40.99 in the 3,000 meter run to win by more than four seconds.  On top of his pair of gold finishes, Hughes helped the Gator distance medley relay team finish third.
