S.J. Guillaume placed first with a lifetime performance in the 5,000 meter run at Saturday's Centre College Invitational. The senior topped a 33-athlete field in convincing fashion, as she crossed the finish line in 17:28.48, good for a seven-second victory. It shattered Guillaume's previous career mark in the event by 26 seconds, and marked the fourth-fastest time in the event in Allegheny women's track and field program history. Additionally, it was the fastest time in the event by a North Coast Athletic Conference runner in nearly two years, while it ranks as the 16th-best performance in the 5,000 in NCAA Division III this season.
