Senior Dan Cheung closed out his indoor track and field career with a 9th place finish in the 5,000 at the 2017 NCAA Division III Championships.  Cheung turned in a time of 14:36.52 in the race, just shy of his previous personal record set seven days earlier at the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.  Entering the event seeded by 11th, he topped the prognostication by two spots. It marked his fourth career NCAA Championship appearance, joining a pair of NCAA Cross Country Championship races, as well as a trip to the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Championships.  It was also his second top-10 national finish in just over three months, after placing fifth to earn NCAA All-America honors at the most recent national cross country race on Nov. 19.
