Allegheny senior Megg Cantlay was named the 2017 North Coast Athletic Conference Mid/Distance Runner of the Year after helping the Gators accumulate 30 points at this past weekend's NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at Oberlin.  Individually, Cantlay placed first in the 800 meter run with a personal-best time of 2:17.54 to win by over a second.  She also helped the Gators to a pair of first-place relay finishes.  On Friday night, Cantlay ran the 800 meter leg of the distance medley relay, won by the Gators by over 11 seconds.  Less than 24 hours later in the final event of the NCAC Championships, she ran the final leg of Allegheny's 4x400 relay squad that claimed first by a narrow three-tenths of a second.  Cantlay is now the fifth Allegheny athlete to be named the NCAC Indoor Women's Mid/Distance Runner of the Year, and first since Leah Shouey in 2004.
