Marques Johnson enters his first year as an assistant coach for the Allegheny College cross country and track and field programs in 2023-24.
Johnson spent the past three years at Rochester University, an NAIA institution in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC). His tenure with the Warriors began as an assistant coach for the cross country and track and field programs during the 2020-21 academic year before being elevated to head track and field coach. In 2023, two Rochester student-athletes qualified for the indoor national championships, where Andre Daniels became the first All-American in program history by placing seventh in the high jump.
A former Heidelberg University student-athlete, Johnson graduated in 2020 with a degree in music. He was also a member of Heidelberg's marching band and is a musician in the U.S. Army Reserve.
