Linda Schirmeister

Linda Schirmeister is in her second season as an assistant coach with the Gators following a four-year career at Slippery Rock. Boasting a wealth of international experience, the former Rock central midfielder posseses a strong coaching acumen and an unwavering competitive spirit. In her first season on the sidelines, she helped guide Allegheny to an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

Born in Frankfurt, Germany and growing up in London, England, the newest member of the Allegheny coaching staff started her soccer career playing for Watford, a notable soccer club in London. Following her club career Schirmeister crossed the pond to compete at the Division II level, leading the Green and White to the NCAA tournament on three separate occasions.

Over four years at SRU, Schirmeister gained experience by assisting in four summers of team camps, studying psychology, and obtaining a FA level one coaching license.  In her senior year at Slippery Rock, Schirmeister joined Forgotten Angels, a non-profit organization designed to put student-athletes in the position of helping under-privileged children. In 2008, Schirmeister and the Forgotten Angels traveled to Haiti, rebuilding an orphanage during the day and running sports clinics in the evening.  Just prior to her arrival at Allegheny, Schirmeister traveled to Congo to volunteer her time with a group of under-privileged teenagers.
