Bobby Kane

Bobby Kane was hired to the Allegheny women’s soccer staff in April 2017.

He arrived in Meadville after spending two seasons as the assistant women’s soccer coach at SUNY-Potsdam.  He worked in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, academic monitoring, on-field coaching, training planning, and opponent scouting, while he was also responsible for creating and managing the Bears’ women’s soccer social media accounts.  In his two seasons at Potsdam, the Bears won 18 games, while he coached a pair of players to earn All-SUNYAC honors.

In addition to working at SUNY-Potsdam, Kane also served as the head soccer coach for FC Freeze in Canton, N.Y., working with U12 girls and U14 boys in the summer travel soccer circuit.

Prior to his time at Potsdam, Kane was the Director of Program Development & Enhancement, as well as Director of Coaching, at the Ultimate Goal Family Sports Center in Marcellus, N.Y.  Here, he developed and organized instructional youth soccer programs, camps, and clinics, while managing a 48,000 square foot indoor soccer facility.  He created and managed a number of youth and adult soccer leagues, and oversaw the hiring and supervision of a staff of over 20 coaches.  He also created and managed the center’s website and social media accounts, while he worked with state governing associations to host coaching education seminars and USSF licensing programs.

Kane began his coaching career at the high school level, first serving as the head girls varsity coach at Jordan-Elbridge Central High School in Jordan, N.Y., and then as junior varsity head and varsity assistant boys coach at West Genesee High School in Camillus, N.Y.

Kane earned a B.A. in psychology from SUNY-Potsdam in 2011, while he recently went on to earn a M.S. in recreation and sport science from Ohio University.  He was a member of the varsity soccer team during his undergraduate years at SUNY-Potsdam, earning the team’s Coaches’ Award for the 2010 season.

He currently holds a national ‘C’ license from the United States Soccer Federation, and owns a Level 5 diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
