Liz Bereit is in her third year as the assistant women's lacrosse coach at Allegheny after joining the coaching staff in June 2017.
Prior to Allegheny, she spent two seasons as the assistant women's lacrosse coach at Piedmont College.
While at Piedmont, Bereit helped the Lions to a 20-15 overall record, and 8-4 mark in USA South Conference play. The Lions advanced to the USA South finals both seasons, while a total of 12 players earned all-conference accolades under Bereit's watch. She assisted in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, practice planning, scouting, and game strategy, as well as academic support, travel planning, and strength and conditioning. During her time at Piedmont, Bereit earned a Masters in Business Administration.
She was a four-year lacrosse standout at Shenandoah. A midfielder and two-year team captain, she was a four-time all-conference honoree and finished her career with 166 goals, 76 assists, and 242 points, good for second all-time in program history. As a freshman in 2012, Bereit was named the USA South Conference Rookie of the Year, and was a First Team USA South All-Conference and All-Academic honoree. She was Second Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference as both a sophomore and a junior, and was named to the ODAC All-Tournament Team after leading the Hornets to the ODAC semifinals in 2013.
As a senior, Bereit had one of the strongest seasons in Shenandoah lacrosse history, leading the Hornets in goals (51), points (70), ground balls (59), and draw controls (59) en-route to First Team All-ODAC honors and First Team IWLCA All-Chesapeake Region accolades. She was named CoSIDA Academic All-America, the ODAC Women's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the Shenandoah University Female Student-Athlete of the Year, and was Shenandoah's nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year award.
In addition to her exploits on the field, Bereit was on the executive board of the Shenandoah Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in all four years, while she is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma, Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Epsilon Kappa, and Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Societies. She graduated with honors in 2015 with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, and a concentration in sports management.
Bereit served as a coach at a number of camps and clinics, including the Georgia Tech Lacrosse Camp and the Nike/Saint Vincent College Lacrosse Camp, while as an undergraduate at Shenandoah, she served as assistant coach for the John Handley High School varsity girls lacrosse team in its first season of existence. A native of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, she gained her first coaching experience during high school, as she introduced lacrosse to girls between the ages of 8-12 for Latrobe Parks and Recreation.
